Anderson woman leaves child in hot car for hours – at DCS interview

An Anderson woman was arrested after leaving her small child in a hot car for hours — while she was at the Department of Children Services being interviewed by a social worker.

The Herald Bulletin says Jennifer Ost, 27, has been charged with neglect of a dependent.

When officers asked her why she left the boy in the car, she said he refused to go inside. The child was found sweating heavily.

Both children were taken into DCS custody.
