Last night the Board of Zoning Appeals denied a zoning request by Hope House to build a recovery home in the Northwood neighborhood.
According to the Hope House Facebook page, the recovery program “had a minor setback today as our zoning request was denied by the City of Marion.”
The program has faced substantial pushback from those living in the Northwood neighborhood.
The proposed sober living home was donated to the organization and would have created housing for 10 men ranging from six months to two years.
The organization thanked those who have supported them during this fight and stated they will do everything they can to make this house and many like it a reality in the community.
