A mother had to drop off her child at a baby box in Hammond last week, the Founder and CEO of Safe Haven Baby Boxes said.
The CEO said the mother was brave and this is exactly why she fights so hard to give mothers more options.
The mother is from Illinois. It’s the seventh baby dropped off at a baby box in Indiana this year.
Overall, this is the 59th baby to come through the Baby Box program. The child has been released from the hospital and is now with the Department of Child Services.
