Gentry tossed the handgun out of the window, exited the vehicle and obeyed officer’s commands by lying on the ground. An officer took custody of the weapon, and Gentry was placed under arrest without further incident.

Dorsey said that officers then located Kathryn Wainscott, 29, and her 8-month-old daughter inside the pursued vehicle. Both Wainscott and her 8-month-old daughter were transported to Marion General Hospital for minor injuries and bruises. Wainscott reported that she was initially driving her vehicle and after police stopped them at 3rd St. and  Whites St., she was ordered by Gentry to switch places.

Gentry was arrested and is being held on a preliminary charge of Criminal Recklessness with a Deadly Weapon.

Multiple more charges are forthcoming.
