MPD: No suspicious packages located after Flying J receives bomb threat

On Sunday, Marion Police officers responded to a bomb threat at the Flying J on State Road 18, located at 6255 E.

The incident happened around 6:30 p.m. when an employee at the adjacent Wendy’s said a young-sounding male called and stated he had placed a bomb in the bathroom, according to Deputy Chief Stephen Dorsey.

He said “You have 20 minutes. Good luck.”

The employee reported that the caller was blocked and there was no way to obtain a call back number.

Officers and fire personnel cleared the building of all patrons and employees and conducted a full building search in which no suspicious package(s) were located.
