The Marion Police Department is investigating a shots fired incident.

It happened Wednesday night at around 10:30 in the area of 10th St. and Western Avenue.

A witness said she observed two young, skinny, black males wearing black clothing out in front of a residence in the 1200 block of W. 10th St. walking east, according to Deputy Chief Stephen Dorsey.

The witness stated that when she went into a nearby store she heard about eight gunshots in fairly rapid succession.

Another witness reported he also heard a similar number of shots in the area.

A residence was struck twice: the front window and the outer window frame. One projectile was found behind the dresser mirror and a second projectile was located in the kitchen drawer.

No one was injured.
