Second Harvest Food Bank looking for volunteers before Tuesday’s tailgate

Second Harvest Food Bank is getting ready to hold another food tailgate at 5 Points Mall on Tuesday, Jan. 19.
But first, they need to find more volunteers.
According to Kellie Arrowood, as of yesterday, Second Harvest only had two volunteers registered to participate in Grant County’s upcoming tailgate.
Arrowood said the organization has reached the point where it might have to cancel tailgates that do not have enough volunteers.
For Tuesday’s tailgate, they are looking for people to place food items directly into vehicles, direct traffic, hand out food pantry flyers or help count the number of people being served.
Volunteers must pre-register. If you’re interested, you can register online.
Volunteers will need to dress for the weather and wear closed-toed shoes.
Tailgates will be canceled if the wind chill/temp is at freezing or below or if above 100 degrees with heat index. Cancellations or changes will be announced on Second Harvest’s Facebook page as well as through GivePulse.
