Legislation Filed Over Unsafe Tires In Indiana

State lawmakers have filed legislation in an effort to make Hoosier roadways safer by having safer tires on vehicles.

State Representative Dan Forestal of Indianapolis has co-authored legislation that would ban the installation of unsafe, used tires on vehicles. It would prohibit suppliers and retailers from installing damaged, worn out or improperly repaired tires, and those that do could be fined 500-dollars for each violation.

Drivers nationwide are involved in nearly11-thousand tire-related crashes every year, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
