The City of Marion reportedly spent 100-thousand dollars for its’ comprehensive financial plan for the city that was prepared by Umbaugh and Assoicates.
The plan took months to prepare and laid out areas where the city could spend its’ money better and investigated where it had spent its’ money poorly.
The “Chronicle-Tribune” reports the Umbaugh report was paid for through a bond issue that included city police vehicles and city employees health insurance costs.
Several city council members are questioning the cost of the report and even its’ need. They say they wonder if the city would have come to the same conclusions on spending without the report from Umbaugh and Associates.
