Gary Lighthouse Coach Killed In I-65 Wreck

The head boys’ basketball coach at Gary Lighthouse CPA Academy was one of the victims of a fatal traffic accident near Lafayette Tuesday.

49-year old Marvin Rea died in the crash along I-65 near Lafayette.  Also killed was 34-year old Kelli Bradley who was riding in Rea’s vehicle that was sandwiched between a semi and a box truck when the chain reaction crash occurred.

Rea’s team is scheduled to play in the upcoming Marion Classic on December 22nd at the Bill Green Athletic Arena.

Rea was in his first year at Lighthouse CPA Academy.  He earlier won two Class 2-A State championships while coaching the boys’ team at Bowman Academy.

Rea was a standout player in high school at Gary Roosevelt and was the 1987 Trester Award Winner.
