Madison County authorities late last night recovered the bodies of two men from a pond at a Madison County campground, including a former Conservation officer.
The Madison County Sheriff’s Department says the men were identified as 44-year old Roger Chezem and his 77-year old friend, Ed Bollman, a former Conservation Officer in Madison County. Both men were from Anderson.
The two men had gone fishing on the pond at a Boy Scout camp near Frankton. Police were notified by a concerned relative after not hearing from the men. Police went to the scene and found a large hole in the ice near the center of the pond but could not locate anyone.
Dive teams from the D-N-R located the men’s bodies in about 20-feet of water just before Midnight.
The case is being investigated as an accident.
