Flu Deaths In Indiana Top 300 But Flu Cases Declining

Indiana Health officials say the good news is that the number of active case of influenza this year is declining significantly.  But the bad news is that the number of deaths from the flue this season far exceeded last year.

The Indiana Health Department reports as of last week 304 deaths had occurred in the state this flu season, compared to just 75 last year.  Most of the deaths occurred among those 65 and over.  But health officials say the number of flu cases in the state has steadily declined in the past month.

Only a handful of states now say the number of cases of the flu is still widespread this season.
