Zoning Appeals Board Denies Mudd Yard Events Request

The Grant County Board of Zoning Appeals has again turned down a request for Concerts and Mudding events at a location near Marion.

Mudd Yard Owner Junior Stone again requested permission to host five music and three Mudd drag events on his property located off Meridian Street, just outside the Marion City Limits.  Neighbors in the area have opposed such events in the past and are again opposed to the plans, claiming loud noise from the events, which they claim last late into the night.

According to the “Chronicle-Tribune,” Stone said he would meet the requirements for proper zoning and asked for a permit to hold the events.  But the Appeals Board last night turned down his request, based on the opposition.

Stone said he may seek other legal avenues as he pursues efforts to host the events.
