Wrongfully Convicted Could Be Paid Under Bill

People who are wrongly convicted of a crime and go to prison in Indiana could be paid by the state for every year they were in prison, under a bill that passed the Indiana House.

The proposed law, which passed unanimously, would pay 50-thousand dollars per year that the person was in prison.

The bill is now headed to the Indiana Senate.
