The Indianapolis Cultural Trail has launched a quarter-million-dollar crowdfunding campaign to fix the circuitry in a piece of electronic artwork installed by British artist Julian Opie in 2008.
The artwork, known as “Ann Dancing,” is a dancing L-E-D stick figure at the gateway to Mass Ave. in Indianapolis.
Cultural Trail executive director Karen Haley says the 11-year-old technology that keeps the minidress-wearing figure perpetually swaying is behind the times.
