Family Service Society to celebrate 100 year anniversary with open house

Family Service Society, Inc. is celebrating 100 years devoted to children and families.

On Tuesday, Nov. 12 in partnership with the Marion Grant County Chamber of Commerce, FSSI will be hosting an open house from 4-6 p.m. in honor of 100 years in service to Grant and surrounding counties.

The event is the final celebration closing out 2019 and ushering in the next 100 years starting in 2020 and showcasing improvements and updates completed in spaces where the organization serves clients, common areas and the administrative board room.

The intention behind ongoing updates is to create an environment of wellness and healing that better serves all families of Grant County and beyond, according to an FSSI press release. Complimentary refreshments will be available.

Those in attendance will be the first to see the debut of the 100-year timeline artwork installed in the main lobby of FSSI. “We are humbled by our history and the progressive impact we have had on those we’ve served for a century. We’re also energized to approach the next 100 years with a renewed vision of Wellness for All,” says Lisa Dominisse, President/CEO of Family Service Society.

FSSI strives to change lives for Good—meaning generational change to move from learned behaviors to break cycles of violence and create new habits that encourage a family to thrive. Meeting children, families and adults where they are, -standing in the margin, hand-in-hand with open hearts and encouragement, believing we are all good enough and all deserve a second chance. FSSI works with families as they deal with life’s hardest challenges and delivers this care through the following service channels:

• Clinical Counseling Services: providing services in general counseling, children, family, marital, abuse and neglect, depression, anxiety, grief, diagnostic assessments & evaluations, sex offenders programming, home-based case management and addiction services.

• Hands of Hope: domestic violence intervention and prevention program

• Healthy Families: an intervention program designed to provide support to newborns to age three and their families

• School-Based services: that provides services to schools, faculty and students to help them gain control over their social and emotional needs to help prepare them to learn and thrive in the classroom.

“We are excited to have the opportunity to celebrate our long history here at FSSI with the community.” stated Marke????ng & Development Director, Iris Brunner. “We want to give thanks and honor those that paved the way and helped FSSI serve those that need us most.”

This event will be held at 101 S Washington St. Marion. Parking is available to the rear of the building.
