Officials say they are uncertain about the events that led to the deaths Tuesday of an Indiana Department of Natural Resources conservation officer and his friend.
The bodies of 44-year old Ed Bollman of Lapel, and 77-year old Roger Chezem of Anderson, were recovered late Tuesday from a pond at a Boy Scout Campground near Frankton. The men were longtime friends who had gone ice fishing together that day, according to authorities.
Bollman was a D-N-R officer who served Howard, Tipton and Madison counties.
Authorities believe Chezem suffered a heart attack and fell into the water and Bollman jumped in to save him. Both men drowned in the icy waters.
