A new Indiana state fire marshal has been chosen.
Gov. Eric Holcomb chose South Bend Fire Chief Stephen Cox. Cox served as a paramedic, firefighter, emergency medical services instructor and EMS chief before he became the fire chief in 2012, said WNDU.
He will start his job as Indiana state fire marshal on Oct. 21.
